選購狗糧時應避免的 4 種成分

「你吃什麼，就成為什麼」這句常見的話，不僅適用於人類，對狗狗也是如此。寵物可從狗糧中獲取所需的重要營養，但錯誤的添加物與其他成分可能導致健康問題。以下介紹購買狗狗食物時應避免的四種成分。看看您目前儲藏櫃中的那包狗糧，下次逛寵物用品區時也請多加留意。

  

1. 玉米
作為全國產量最高的作物，玉米價格低廉，也很容易添加到各種食品中，包括狗糧。可惜的是，狗狗其實無法從玉米中獲得任何營養益處，因此可將狗糧中的玉米視為廉價填充物。事實上，狗狗根本不需要攝取碳水化合物，澱粉含量過高的飲食可能導致肥胖、糖尿病和癌症等問題。查看狗糧標籤時，您可能會看到多種不同形式的玉米，包括玉米粉、玉米蛋白粉、玉米麩皮和玉米纖維素。這些成分都沒有益處，應盡可能避免。
 

  

2. 籠統的肉類名稱
購買以籠統名稱標示肉類成分的食物時要特別小心。若標籤寫的是「家禽」或「魚類」，而沒有明確說明肉類來自哪種動物，您其實根本無法知道自己餵狗狗吃的是什麼。也應避免成分表中僅列出「肝臟」的食物。某些種類的肝臟對寵物具有很高的營養價值，但另一些則只是低品質肉類。一般來說，若狗糧標籤寫得過於含糊，這就是您應該另尋其他產品的訊號。

3. 肉類副產品
被認定不安全或不適合人類食用的剩餘肉類碎屑，會被標示為副產品，其中許多會送往寵物食品工廠。然而，副產品的問題在於，您永遠不會知道它們來自何處，或為何被判定不適合人類食用。這些成分可能來自動物的腦、肺、腎臟、血液或骨頭等部位——其中只有部分具有營養價值，其他成分則可能對狗狗十分危險。它們也可能是在肉品加工廠被丟棄，因為來自生病或瀕死的動物。簡單來說，您的寵物值得吃真正的肉，而不是這些副產品。

 


 

4. 動物脂肪
就像其他籠統的「肉類」名稱一樣，您經常會在狗糧成分中看到「動物脂肪」。並非所有脂肪都有害——事實上，部分脂肪是狗狗獲取必需 Omega 脂肪酸所不可或缺的。建議選擇明確標示雞脂肪、豬脂肪或植物油的產品。如同以往，最好清楚知道狗狗的營養來自哪裡；若交由運氣決定，風險實在太高。

    My dog eats the same quality red meat, chicken and fish as I do. I won't eat offal and tripe so why should she.

    I also suggest that pet owners consider Not buying commercial petfood at all.
    you can look online to see how and why other people are doing this.

    In answer to Coral Jane re Offal and tripe.
    Offal and tripe are actually very nutritious for humans and dogs provided they are in their natural state - not bleached, diseased or cooked. Please don't let your sensitivities deny these health giving foods to your dog. I've been feeding them to my dogs for over 40 years with no ill effects.
